Over the past few years, there has been evidence to show how CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) can help with stress, anxiety and depression. Mindfulness is a term that many counsellors offer to help clients to learn to relax and to let go of the busy thoughts that can affect sleep and general health.

'Mindfulness is the miracle
 that can, in a flash,
call back
our dispersed mind and
restore it to wholeness so that
 we can truly
live each moment
 of our life.'

-Thitch Nhat Hanh

As part of my counselling practice, I often teach, adults and children, simple breathing and relaxation techniques to help them to learn to appreciate the 'here and now' as well as feeling less angry, anxious or stressed. Clients report many positive benefits from learning simple Mindfulness exercises and it's something that can be fun for parents and children to learn together.
